You can work with the ready made scenes or create your own scene from scratch using the included props and figures. 2. If you want to use a ready made scene simply double click on one of the .pz3 files found in the Island Paradise Scenes folder (in your Poser 6 folder). NOTE: The background images dont load with the .pz3 files, you can find the backgrounds in Runtime\textures\Island Paradise\Backgrounds\ Island = blue sky white clouds.jpg Desert = cloudy sunset.jpg Oasis = cloudy evening sky.jpg 3. You can add extra props and figures by opening the character library or prop library, clicking on Island Paradise and then choosing your desired prop or figure. 4. NOTE: The props and figures will be opened in the middle of the scene which can mean that they are buried under the sand depending on how your scene is set up. They can be easily moved around the scene by clicking on them and using the dials for x,y,z movement. 5. If you want to create your own scene from scratch then please follow the next set of instructions carefully: a. Open the prop library and click on Island Paradise. b. Load the Sea Bed prop into the scene (this step is important as other props are parented to the Sea Bed). c. Load the Island Base prop into the scene. d. In the parameters of Island Base set the morph target Mound 1 to 1 (you can change this later, but this step is necessary for you to get your bearings). e. Zoom out with the camera until you can see the mound clearly (set shadows off in the preview screen and the preview type to full). f. Load the Sea prop into the scene (If you want to create a desert or oasis scene then leave out this step). g. You can now change the morph target dials for Island Base as you wish in order to create the shape of island or shape of dunes that you need. h. Now you can add further props and move them around as you wish. i. To load the poseable cactus or palm tree figures simply open the characters library and click on Island Paradise and then on the figure you require. The figures can be posed by clicking on one part and turning the x,y,z rotation dials. j. When making an oasis you should firstly set the Hole 1, 2 and 3 morph targets of the Island Base as you require and then load the oasis prop into the scene. k. To change the background, all you need to do is import one of the background pictures found in Runtime\textures\Island Paradise\Backgrounds the size of each background is 804x629. l. To change the lights open the light library, click on Island Paradise and then choose a lighting set, lights are designed to fit with the different backgrounds. Usage Tips and Limitations: This kit lets you create an almost endless variety of different island, desert and oasis scenes. It may take some time and patience to set up your perfect island scene from scratch! This kit gives you the opportunity to do that, but it is definitely not a quick process. If you need a quick island, desert or oasis scene then it is better to use the ready made scenes. You can also use the ready made scenes as a starting point and work from there. When rendering you may need to set the rendering options carefully and alter camera angles etc. slightly in order to get the best results. It does take some patience to get a perfect render. To get best results from the lights you should delete all other lights first and then load the Island Paradise light sets. When loading Island Paradise figures and Props into the scene they will appear in the middle of the scene. This can mean that they are buried under the sand, depending on your scene. The best thing to do in this situation is select the object or body of the figure from the menu and then turn the dial for movement along the y axis so that the object or figure comes up out of the sand and you can see it. NOTE: The plants are only visible when facing you, which means you may need to turn the camera around to find them when you first load them into the scene. They are also not visible when seen directly from the side. If you get strange results when rendering with the firefly renderer at certain camera angles/positions you should try the poser 4 render engine. If you add V3 or other figures to the island you may need to resize them by selecting the body of the figure and then using the scale dial. Hope you enjoy this kit!
