Start Poser 5 or newer. 2. Delete all of the lights from the scene. 3. Select the ground prop and scale it to 0%, to hide it. 4. Create a new pure white infinite light (see your Poser handbook for details on how to do this). 5. Position this light to be shining from the back of the scene. 6. Create another new pure white infinite light. 7. Select the light and set the intensity to 120% (see your Poser handbook for details on how to do this). 8. Select the light again and open the Material room. 9. Open the Advanced material tab and set the specular colour to pure black (see your Poser handbook for details on how to do this). 10. Position this light to be shining from the front of the scene. 11. You can change the positions and colours of these two lights at any time to see what effects you get in the scene or even add more lights. 12. If you want to use one of the 180 degree universe props, open the Props library, then YourUniverse (to use a background image see step 16.). 13. Load one of the Universe props. 14. Select the main camera and set the focal length to around 15mm (see your Poser handbook for details on how to do this). 15. You can experiment with the focal length for different effects. 16. If you want to use the included background images instead of the 180 degree universe props, select File, Import, Background Picture from the top menu (see your Poser handbook for details on how to do this). 17. Navigate to Runtime\textures\YourUniverse and load one of the universe_background images. 18. Answer "yes" to change the window size to match the background image size. 19. Make sure you delete the universe prop if it is still in the scene. 20. Open the Figures library and then YourUniverse. 21. Load either the Planet or Star figure. 22. Open the Poses library and then YourUniverse and select the figure that you want to add the MAT pose to. 23. For the Planet figure you can load one of the Moon or Planet MAT poses, for the Star figure you can load one of the Star MAT poses. 24. To scale the planet or star, select the Body of the figure and then set the scale dial. 25. To move and rotate the planet or star, select the "planet" body part and set the dials for positioning and rotation. 26. Select the atmosphere and discs (rings) props to scale and position them the way you want. 27. To add an extra set of rings to the planet, open the Props library and the YourUniverse. 28. Select the body of the planet figure and load the Rings. 29. Repeat the steps to add more content to your scene. 30. Render the scene using the highest quality render settings that your system can handle. 31. This package is about experimenting as much as you like with light, camera and render settings to see what effects you can get in Your Universe. TIP: for a brighter star you can remove the texture used for the ambient setting of the planet material, creating just a white glowing ball. Application Instructions for use with DAZ Studio: 1.
