With the recent discovery of Homo Insurance Agent, it is now thought 
that fire insurance was first sold during the early Pliocene, though not 
every scientist agrees. Dr. Alan Ketchup of Oxford asks how it is 
possible to burn down a cave? Furthermore, the tools used by early man 
were certainly insufficient to carve into stone the fine print that 
would have been required had insurance salesman actually appeared at 
that time.
