Installation Instructions: 1. Extract the Zip folder to your Poser folder or DAZ Studio content folder. 2. As an alternative you can extract the Zip folder to a different location and manually copy the folders and files to the correct location as listed below. Exact folder names and locations: ..\Runtime\Geometries\NaturalExpression\ base.obj magnet.obj ..\Runtime\libraries\Props\NaturalExpression\ NaturalExpression.png NaturalExpression.pp2 ..\Runtime\textures\NaturalExpression\ browl.jpg browlin.jpg browlout.jpg browr.jpg browrin.jpg browrout.jpg cheekl.jpg cheekr.jpg chin.jpg eyelb.jpg eyelin.jpg eyelout.jpg eyelt.jpg eyerb.jpg eyerin.jpg eyerout.jpg eyert.jpg lipb.jpg lipm.jpg lipt.jpg mouthl.jpg mouthr.jpg nose.jpg nosel.jpg noser.jpg Application Instructions: 1. Start Poser or DAZ Studio. 2. Empty the scene and then load V4 and turn off IK and zero the figure. 3. Open the Props library and then NaturalExpression. 4. Select the head area of V4 and load the NaturalExpression tools into the scene. 5. Select the head area of V4 again. 6. Now you will see the 25 blocks with the names of the parts they effect and their red bases. These will not be displayed the same in DAZ Studio. 7. The Natural Expression tools work just like magnets/deformers, the block is like the magnet and the base is like the magnet base. 8. Select one of the blocks using the transformation tool (cross with arrows in the tool bar). In DAZ Studio select the deformer you want to use from the Scene menu. 9. Click and hold your mouse button on the block and move the mouse around to see how the face follows the movements. You can move the camera around to move the face in different directions. Just experiment a bit to get a feel for the tool. DAZ Studio users should move the deformer using the dials in the dials menu after selecting it. 10. If you are a Poser user and want to control the block more precisely just select it and then use the dials in the dials menu to move it around. 11. The blocks are smart propped to V4 which means when you load a pose they will follow V4 automatically. 12. Try loading some poses and then posing the blocks as above to get a feel for this. To switch to a different block, first select the head and then select the block you want to move or select a different block from the Scene menu. 13. You can use the blocks in combination with the V4 expression morphs for more variety. 14. If you want to try out the tools with other characters or if you want to make any adjustments to them yourself please follow the instructions below: a) More often than not you will want to make an adjustment to the zone. To do this simply select a block and then select the corresponding zone (white ring). b) Alter the zone using the dials in the dials menu e.g. move it up or down or left and right or make it bigger or smaller. c) Keep going back to the block and moving it around to see what effect changing the zone has on the movement of the face. d) Other ways of adjusting the tools include moving the base around and scaling or rotating the block. e) Select a block and then select the base (red bar) underneath it. f) Move the base around using the transformation tool or the dials. g) Select the block again and try scaling and rotating it to see what kind of effect this has on the face. 15. When you render the scene the blocks and other components will not be visible. 16. Keep experimenting and see what you can do with the tools. There are lots of possibilities! Tips and Limitations: Take a look at your handbook for more tips and techniques on using magnets. If you have any questions just send an email to the address above. I hope you enjoy these tools for V4 and that they help you to add some more realism to your renders. Have fun! Cheers Adam
