Creating stereoscopic renders in Poser:

You can start with any scene that uses the main camera. The cameras included are just examples for you to play with and see the effects. To create a stereoscopic image you need to render your scene twice in two different ways. First of all you should select the main camera whatever it's starting position is and rotate it around the y axis just -0.5 degrees. Use the dials menu to do this. Now render your scene and save the image. Next rotate the main camera around the y axis +1 degrees. This gets you back to the starting position and adds 0.5 degrees of rotation in the opposite direction. Now render your scene again with the same render settings and save this image too.

Example:

The main camera you start with has a y axis rotation of  -37 degrees. First you would set the value to -37.5 and render the image and then to -36.5 and render the image.

Stereoscopy Jiggle with GIMP:

Now open Stereoscopy.xcf with GIMP. If you don't have GIMP you can download it for free at www.gimp.org

Make sure that the layers dialog is activated so you can see the box with the different layers of the image. If not then press CTRL + L.

You need to set up your two images just like this example. First of all open both images and then select all, copy, paste one of them into the other. Right click the pasted layer and select new layer.

Next you need to change the names of the layers to make an animation. Right click the layer and then choose the option at the top (something like Layer Settings). Type the name frame 1(300ms) and then do the same with the other layer but name it frame 2(300ms).

Now go to the filter menu and select animation and then play animation. Click the play button to see the stereoscopic effect.

To save your animation as an animated .GIF simply click file, save as and then type the name of your image with .gif extension. In the next box click save as animation and then export. Click save.

Open the saved image with your web browser because the Windows image viewer will not show the animation.

You can use the content however you want in your personal projects and commercial renders, but you are not allowed to use it for a commercial product without asking permission.

You can send any comments and renders to equanimityiseverything@yahoo.co.uk
